About this Park

Set along the tranquil banks of the Kermandie River, CMCA RV Park Geeveston is the southernmost CMCA RV park in Australia, offering a peaceful escape in the heart of Tasmania’s Huon Valley. Located within the Heritage Park precinct, guests enjoy close proximity to public amenities, an off-leash dog park, and are just a 400m stroll from local shops and cafes.

This quiet, pet-friendly park is a haven for nature lovers - Geeveston is renowned as Australia’s best location to see wild platypus up close, and serves as the gateway to Hartz Mountains National Park and other iconic Tasmanian attractions.

Please note:

  • Open to fully self-contained vehicles only (no tents or roof-top campers)
  • 14-night stay limit
  • Vehicles must not be left unattended overnight
  • Seasonal closure: The park closes annually from 31 May for the winter months.

Park rules

  • Park guests must comply with Custodian directives
  • Temporary camping only - limits apply, check with custodian
  • Vehicles must comply with the CMCA Self-Contained Vehicle Policy. All guests must sleep within the self-contained vehicle. Rooftop tents are not to be slept in. Swags and tents are not permitted outside the vehicle.
  • No grey water to be discharged to the ground - must use onboard tank or portable tote with watertight seal and shut off valve from the RV. A bucket is not acceptable to collect and carry wastewater to the dump point.
  • No permanent connection to taps for fresh water
  • Generators to be run only between 8:00am and 7:00pm for no longer than 4 hours in a day and 2 hours at a time, and only to run when someone is present at the RV. Please be aware of your neighbours when using generators.
  • Batteries are not to be charged by running RV engine unless in an emergency situation and with prior approval from Custodian.
  • Dogs on leads always with leads no longer than 2m, and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their dog. Restrained pets may be permitted at communal happy hours if you ask and ALL those present agree with the animal being present. No animal can be tethered to a moving vehicle.
  • Parking - a minimum 3 metre space is to be left between RVs and all vehicles should be parked to allow easy emergency exit from the park (generally rear to boundary)
  • Rubbish must be disposed of in the bins provided or taken with you if not provided
  • No campfires are permitted - unless the park has a designated fire pit, which is under the control of the Custodian
  • Make yourself aware of site emergency procedures, and these will be displayed at the happy hour shelter
  • No smoking or vaping is permitted unless in guest’s own vehicle, and this is not to impact other guests
  • Please do not wash your vehicles within the park unless a dedicated wash bay is provided
  • Bikes, scooters, golf carts, mobility scooters and the like (powered and unpowered) are to adhere to the 10km speed limit of the park, wear appropriate protective equipment such as a helmet at all times, and only be used when legally allowed.
  • Abusive, disruptive, and unruly behaviour will NOT be tolerated and can result in your removal from the park. Please be aware of noise and do not disturb other guests.
