Set along the tranquil banks of the Kermandie River, CMCA RV Park Geeveston is the southernmost CMCA RV park in Australia, offering a peaceful escape in the heart of Tasmania’s Huon Valley. Located within the Heritage Park precinct, guests enjoy close proximity to public amenities, an off-leash dog park, and are just a 400m stroll from local shops and cafes.

This quiet, pet-friendly park is a haven for nature lovers - Geeveston is renowned as Australia’s best location to see wild platypus up close, and serves as the gateway to Hartz Mountains National Park and other iconic Tasmanian attractions.

Please note:

  • Open to fully self-contained vehicles only (no tents or roof-top campers)
  • 14-night stay limit in any 21. The maximum stay applies collectively to all persons travelling or staying together. Separate or consecutive bookings made under different names do not reset or extend the maximum stay period.
  • Vehicles must not be left unattended overnight
  • Seasonal closure: The park closes annually from 31 May for the winter months.

Park rules

  • Same-day bookings close at 6:00 pm AEST
  • Maximum stay of 14 nights within any 21-day period
  • Park guests must familiarise themselves with Park Specific rules and comply with Custodian directives
  • Gates close at 6.00pm each night and there will be NO entry after 8.00pm without prior arrangement.
  • Check in after 1:00pm, check out before 11am otherwise further fees will apply.
  • NO permanent camping. Site Fees MUST be paid prior to your night’s stay. Guests who fail to make payment by 6:00pm that day may be asked to vacate immediately.
  • ALL vehicles must comply with the CMCA Self-Contained Vehicle Policy. All guests must sleep within the self-contained vehicle. Rooftop tents are not to be slept in. Swags and tents are not permitted outside the vehicle.
  • NO grey or black water to be discharged to the ground - must use onboard tank or portable tote with watertight seal and shut off valve from the RV. A bucket is not acceptable to collect and carry wastewater to the dump point.
  • NO permanent connection to taps for fresh water. Taps are for filling up tanks only.
  • Generators to be run only between 8:00am and 7:00pm for no longer than 4 hours in a day and 2 hours at a time, and only to run when someone is present at the RV. Please be aware of your neighbours when using generators.
  • Batteries are not to be charged by running RV engine unless in an emergency situation and with prior approval from Custodian.
  • Pets MUST be on leads always when outside the vehicle, with leads no longer than 2m and owners are responsible for cleaning up after their pets. Restrained pets may be permitted at communal happy hours if all attending guests agree with the animal being present. No pets to be tethered to a moving vehicle. Maximum of two pets allowed per site.
  • Parking – a minimum 3 metre spacing it to be left between RV’s. All vehicles should be parked to allow easy exit from the park in the event of an emergency. (Front of vehicle facing the road).
  • NO personal campfires are permitted. Designated fire pit only which is under the control of the custodian
  • Make yourself aware of site emergency procedures - these will be displayed on the noticeboard and signage. The Custodian will advise you of any evacuation orders and will advise of the need to evacuate immediately.
  • NO smoking or vaping is permitted unless in guest’s own vehicle, and this is not to impact other guests
  • NO washing of vehicles or RVs within the campground.
  • Keep noise to a minimum and no noise after 9pm. Guests are responsible for visitor behaviour.
  • Abusive, disruptive, and unruly behaviour will NOT be tolerated and can result in your removal from the park.

Park closures

  • Closed for Winter - 01 June to 03 September

Cancellation and Refund Policy

  • Cancel more than 48 hours before noon on your check-in day and receive a full refund to your original payment method or a Park Funds credit.
  • Cancellations made within 48 hours of noon on your check-in day, and no-shows, are not eligible for a refund.
  • No refunds apply for early departures or shortened stays after check-in.

    Good value for money. Five minute walk to town and to toilets which are adjacent to the campground . Bonus was sighting a platypus just below main bridge , 5 minutes walk along path from our van.

    Love CMCA park here met lovely people and close to where we could view some platypus was lovely and the camp was roomy with a nice fire pit at night
